1. SRI SIVAVAKIYAR SIDDHAR
Born with Lord Shiva’s name on his lips this great sage said that the constant repetition of the Lords name would even turn one’s body into gold. A great rennuciate he is said to have lived for over 4,000 years. His works include NaadiParikshai and Sivavakiyar 1000.
2. SRI KAYILAY KAMBILISATTAMUNI SIDDHAR
Also known as Roma Rishi this great sage is said to have come from Rome. He is said to have mastered all eight siddhis. His works include Vroma RishiVaithyam 1000 and NaagoRoodam.
3. SRI MAHA BOGAR SIDDHAR
Born in China Sri MahaBogar is said to have mast red all the mantras at a very young age. He is said to have crafted the famous idol of Lord Muruga at Palani. His main works include BogarVaithyam 1000 Bogar 12000.
4. SRI KAGA BUJANDAR SIDDHAR
Born in Truchi in Tamil Nadu Sri KagaBujandara is said to have seen the truth in everything around him. This great saint is said to have witnessed in the form of a crow several cycles of creation and destruction Famous works include KaagaBujandaGnyanam, KaakaKaiveeyam 33.
5. SRI PULIPANI SIDDHAR
Born in China, Sri PulipaniSiddhar is said to have been the disciple of MahaBogarSwamigal. When MahaBogar crafted the idol of Lord Muruga at Palani is Sri pulipaniSiddhar who collected the required herbs. His famous works include putlipaniJaalam 325, putlipaniVaidyam 500.
6. SRI SATTAIMUNI SIDDHAR
Sri SattaimuniSiddhar was bom in Sri Lanka and came to Tamil Nadu. Seeing MahaBogar in a temple and captivated by his radiance he abandons his family and becomes his disciple. His works in simple language appeal greatly to the common man his works include Sri SattaimuniKarpam 100 and Sri SattaimuniNigandu 1200.
7. SRI AGAPEY SIDDHAR
Nayanaar a weaver by birth was displeased with mere materialistic success. Visualing Sage Vyasa as his Guru he sits in meditation in a Jyoti tree. AgapaySiddhar as he came to be known wanted people to control the negative feelings within them and to realize God. His writings include AgappaySiddharpaadal 90 and AgappayPoornaGnyanam 15.
